BBP – January 2020 News

Welcome Back!
We hope you all had a fantastic Christmas Break with your families. The children did an outstanding job presenting our Christmas programs. If you ordered a DVD of the Christmas Program, you should receive it soon. They will be sent home in your child’s folder. We also had a fun time celebrating Jesus at our “Happy Birthday Jesus” parties. Thank you for all your help making the Christmas season so special at Bright Beginnings. We also want to thank you for all the goodies and gifts you shared with each of us. We truly appreciate your kindness and generosity! The children have done a great job getting back into their routine. We are excited about all that the Lord has planned for 2020.

Open House for Prospective Families
We will have Open House for prospective families on Wednesday, January 22nd beginning at 10:30 AM in the sanctuary. Please share this date with any family and friends who may be interested in enrolling their child in our preschool program next year. There will be an informational session, a question and answer session, and a tour of the school.

Registration for ’20-’21 School Year
Registration is just a month away! Registration for currently enrolled families will begin on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. You will have until February 7th to turn in your packet and receive priority over new families joining our program. Open Registration for the community will begin Tuesday, February 11h. Please remember that for re-enrollment and open registration, ALL documentation must be attached and current, and your financial account must be in good standing. Registration fees must be turned in as well. We hope and pray that all our Wee Learn through 4-year-old students will return for the 2020-2021 school year! Please come by the office if you have any questions regarding registration.

February is Love of Reading Month
This year we are once again incorporating a Read-A-Thon for our required Spring Fundraiser. Each child is asked to contact sponsors for pledges, log the minutes read each day from February 1st through Feb. 21st and turn in the money raised, sponsor lists, and reading logs on Tuesday, Feb. 25th. The child who reads the most minutes and raises the most money from each class will win a prize, and the one class in the school that reads the most minutes and/or raises the most money will win a pizza party! Even if you choose to pay the $50 sustaining fee without raising pledges, please log the minutes you read with your child each day to help his/her class work towards the pizza party! All classes will celebrate their accomplishments with a Read-All-Day/Pajama Day on Thursday, February 27th or Friday, February 28th. Teachers will post a sign-up sheet for parents to come and read to their class on this special day. Kindergarten will incorporate the Read-A-Thon with their Six Flags Read to Succeed Program. Look for details coming home very soon!

Once a month on Thursdays, all of our classes are invited to participate in chapel service. Chapel is an important part of the preschool curriculum as it teaches students the importance of corporate worship in a fun and exciting way that is tailored to their specific needs. During these short chapel services, our music teacher will begin with several worship songs followed by a short message from Mrs. Heather, FBCL preschool director.

Part of our chapel curriculum is to teach the importance of giving our offerings to the Lord. You are encouraged to have your child give a small offering in our chapel service. Our chapel offerings the second half of the year will go to a local ministry, CLC or Christian Learning Centers. This is a ministry that offers classes based on Biblical concepts to our public school students. The students are able to sign up and take the class in an off campus setting during their school day. We are excited about what CLC does for our community and are thankful that we can offer support to them in this season. We hope to teach our students about missions and ministry by focusing on this ministry that FBCL supports.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Parents are always welcome to attend chapel services! We ask that you sit towards the back of the worship center, leaving plenty of space for our classes to sit together. Chapel will begin on the dates below at 9:45 AM in the sanctuary. Thank you in advance for your support of chapel this year!
