BBP – March 2020 News

February Love of Reading Month
During the month of February, we celebrated Love of Reading Month.  We want to thank everyone for participating in our spring Read-A-Thon fundraiser!  We raised over  $6000 for our school!  The children celebrated with a Read All Day/Pajama Day.  Also, thank you to all the parents who read to their child’s class.  We are so proud of all of our students who participated in the Read-A-Thon.  Congratulations to all of our kindergarteners who read for 360 minutes to earn Six Flags tickets!  Winners from each class were rewarded with a book, and the winning classes will celebrate with a pizza party.  Our winning classes are Mrs. Dillard’s Kindergarten Class for most minutes read and Mrs. Abby’s Pre-K for most money raised.

Registration for ’20-’21 School Year
We are still enrolling for next school year!  We have limited spaces left.  Registration packets are available in the office or on our website at  Please stop by the office if you have any questions about registration.  As always, registration is on a first come first serve basis until all spaces are filled.  Please tell your friends and family about our school!  We are excited to have so many returning families as well as the new families the Lord will bring to our school!

Dad’s Dessert Night
Thursday, March 19th is our annual “Dad’s Dessert Night”.  This is an evening where each dad and child can spend time together at school.  This year the theme is “March Madness”.  Festivities will begin at 7:00 PM.  Dads may arrive as early as 6:40 PM and drop their child off in the classroom.  There will be a short devotion, lead by Chase Snyder, for our dads in the sanctuary.  After the devotion, dads will return to the classroom to eat snacks with their child.  Each teacher has planned special activities in which the students and dads may participate prior to eating.  Of course, as every year, moms provide these goodies for them to eat!  Look for details coming home soon!

Once a month on Thursdays, all of our classes are invited to participate in chapel service.  Chapel is an important part of the preschool curriculum as it teaches students the importance of corporate worship in a fun and exciting way that is tailored to their specific needs.  During these short chapel services, our music teacher, Mrs. Kelly Myers, will begin with several worship songs followed by a short message from Mrs. Heather, our FBCL Preschool Director.   Our worship songs will be “This Little Light of Mine” and “Friends Forever!” and “Doesn’t Matter” by Orange Kids.  Our story is about the disciples Peter, Andrew, James and John.

Part of our chapel curriculum is to teach the importance of giving our offerings to the Lord.  You are encouraged to have your child give a small offering in our chapel service. We are using our offering the second half of the year to help support the Christian Leaning Center (CLC) in Walton County.  This program offers Christian education classes to students in our public schools.  Please visit for more details.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.  Parents are always welcome to attend chapel services! Chapel will begin on the dates below at 9:45 AM in the sanctuary.

Please remember to drive safely in the school parking lot, especially at drop off and pick up times.  We want to keep our students and parents safe at all times. Also, please be reminded that parents and students should only enter and exit the building through the preschool doors.  This allows us to keep our building more secure for the safety of your children.

Inclement Weather
We abide by the decision of the Walton County Public School System to close schools due to weather.  If they close, so do we.  If WCPS decides to delay the opening of public schools by one hour, we will delay one hour and open at 10:30 AM, with pick-up times remaining the same.  If WCPS decides to delay for more than one hour, we will not open for the day.  A Calling Post call will NOT always be sent out to signal the closing of school.  Please watch the news for the decision of Walton County Public Schools to know whether or not Bright Beginnings Preschool will be open.  Thank you!
